I recently got an ACER travelmate that works very well. A little above that price range, but there were other models that would fit your needs I think. It might also be cheaper where you're at since Canada pricing on everything is terrible.

You definitely get used to it, and quickly. There might be something that catches your eye and you add to the "save to later" bucket, or something you want to "try at home" later but it's not a constant flood of hot content that has you revved up. I actually get this question a lot, as well as...

It depends on what the account is being used for. If it's for posting memes and stuff, no one cares if the followers are real and people are likely to follow the crowd. But it's very easy to check if someone has fake followers.
