The market will always follow the BTC 4 years cycle and what everyone needs to do is DCA mostly on BTC with the inclusion of altcoin that has good fundamentals, real utility, and huge use case.

The ETH merge doesn't show much impact because it was first over hype and the community has over waited for it and some have to find another alternative before Vitalik proceeds with the decision. If Vitalik follow the road map as it was written some years ago things like this won't have happened.
