There is no harm at all in having a hyphen in your domain name from an SEO perspective but as others have already said it's aesthetically not a preferred choice.
Make sure that all those 20 posts have been indexed as well before you go for AdSense. Other than content, I'd check UX/UI(first impression for human checking) and legal pages.
A niche can also be tricky at times.
Go for the same model if that serves the purpose. Otherwise, use pages for content articles if you want more control over individual pieces.
e.g., in a situation where you want some articles with a sidebar and others in full width mode.
