to get a decent looking shop and some customerfriendly functions in that shop you will have to modify osCommerce. It includes some work but is easily to do. I can only recommend OSC (if you are wiling/able to do some modifications on the php stuff)

What's so complicated about the design, it's a pretty straightforward layout, nothing special, no fancy gimmicks (unless I missed something when checking the site out).
