Okay, so this is my Gdrive status of my personal Gmail account. You can clearly see there's a limited quota of storage. And this is the Gdrive storage status of edu mail. You can clearly see there's no storage quota. Hope it helps.

Just tried using this edu mail with Microsoft Azure and Github student pack. And it doesn't work in both the cases. So, with this edu mail you can enjoy only on benefit, that is unlimited Gdrive.
