I think you are trying to move way too fast. These things take time. Some people do unfollow you, keep in mind, they might be doing just what you are.

I do this depending what the issues is. When it involves paypal, ebay, and any other payment or very important site, I just change my ROUTER (call my provider tell them something is wrong they send new router). Then do a full restore of my PC. I know MAC address still going to catch me, but...
