I think if you have a vision and want to start small to get into something you can try it, but once traffic rises the free hosts also lack of performance and speed, so I would then switch to a paid hosting (which is insanely cheap these days)

I would say you need to make a kind of promo, post in niche-related forums, reddit, and what not. people need to know that you exist and so your work will spread, hard work takes a long road but will pay off, so good luck!
