Yeah, I wanted to ask the same question. Is it really working? I thought quality content was way more powerful, in terms of reach, than being verified.
Regarding content, how about a weekly 'top five things to do in Edinburgh this weekend', there is a Manchester site that does this well. I can imagine it attracts advertising from companies wanting to be featured and promote their event.
I agree that follow up calls are a good way to engage with customers and encourage more reviews, but the amount that do, even with this, is still very low.
I agree that it is a lot of trial and error....had to a certain degree it has to do with how you apply what you learn. Different people take different things away from the same book or guide and apply it in different ways. If that makes sense!
