Nothing is a substitution for manual spinning. Algorithms just can't understand the human language anywhere approaching as well as a human can/could.

First of all, welcome to BlackHatWorld. There is an absolute wealth of information here, and as others have suggested I'd advise starting with the search option and also reading the stickied threads on general subjects, it's a great place to start!

A desktop PC should be able to support running almost 24/7 theoretically, but you may find a VPS (virtual private server) better suited for your needs if you are consistently leaving your computer running this often.

It'll depend on your product and niche etc, the most basic answer is to test it yourself! I've heard people say red works best, others say yellow cored red, some green, just test and see!

Blogger is a lot more customisable than Google Sites, I'd definitely recommend Blogger if you're doing anything more than a quick Web 2.0 property!

A link pyramid basically consists of a an SEO strategy which builds from a lot of low quality links up to a small number of high quality ones pointed at your money website - that's all! For example, 1000 Wiki links pointed at 50 Web 2.0's pointed at your money website would be a small link pyramid.

From a branding perspective, I've always felt that adding a hyphen generally cheapens the image of the website in comparison to adding an extra letter - after all, how many television adverts do you see for 'Carpet-Warehouse' rather than 'CarpetsWarehouse', etc.

I use a combination of Google Adwords Tool and manual Google checking, you can see the keywords and how well optimised each competing website is!
