For saas niche, going for links that make sense in the buyer journey. Comparisons, templates, free tools, integrations, niche guest posts and resource pages are usually better than random high DR links.

CTR improvement can help, but only when the page already getting impressions. If the title match intent better and more people click, that’s usually a good sign the page deserve more testing.

For me, link building in 2026 is more about relevance than volume. A few links from real niche sites with traffic and indexed pages can beat a pile of random links.

Small sites can still rank, but they need to be sharper now. Thin content, no links, bad internal links and no brand signals make it hard to compete with bigger sites.

Branding matters more now, but technical SEO still matters because Google still needs to crawl and index the site properly. Technical fixes alone won’t do much if the site has no trust, no authority, and no real brand/entity signals.

For a 10 day old legal site, I wouldn’t stress it. New sites jump around a lot at the start, and legal is a tough niche where trust matters more. Check if the pages are indexed, what queries are showing in GSC, and whether the drop is sitewide or just a few pages.

For me it’s checking GSC at page level. Pages with impressions but low CTR, p.2 keywords, queries the page almost answers, those are usually easy wins. Second is internal linking

For me AEO is not really replacing SEO, maybe in a way complement SEO? SEO is still ranking pages. AEO is more about making your content easy to cite. So the fundament still the same, good content, topical coverage, internal links, authority. If the site is thin, calling it AEO won’t save it...

If backlinks disappeared tomorrow, Id probably just focus 100% on topical authority and matching search intent. Focus on main page, supporting pages around it, and strong internal links so bots can easily understand what the website is about. Brand/entity signals would matter more too imo...

Imo, SEO is indeed getting a bit harder for affiliates + informational sites or doorway sites. Competition is relatively the same compared for local businesses. With AI, it just doesn't make sense just focusing on SEO, you should explore other platforms for traffic as well.

Blogging is definitely easier now, but it also means more competitiion.
