I have never tried texts, always just picked the phone call option and answer with the soft phone.

THere are ways to get as many phone numbers as you need to verify accounts. Setup a SIP account such as Call Centric, use that SIP account with IPKAL, download a soft phone such as x-lite. Unlimited phone numbers :P, more work then it needs to be though.
