imo, no need to start off with a website right from the very beginning. Instead of this please try publishing on some thing vry basic, finds out what works and only then build up your own website.
tbh, an awesome piece of writing may goes unnoticed even if the title and search intent is not right. i would look into the search intent first and change my introduction and marketing accordingly.
Actually i have seen thin articles out ranking much longer ones just because of getting straight to the point. The number of words can not save an article at all that takes 10 paragraphs to state two important points.
I no longer considered traffic to be the sole criiterion for measuring progress. At times it is the ranking, impression or even a couple of gud clicks that takes a step forward fst.
