yes realizing this after digging into their script. Just something I read on reddit. However, after looking at the script it seems they have like a background redirect that autofills email into an internet speed website and then they are able to get the email there... maybe.. thinking out loud...

I also have the script used by one of these companies to gather the info, diving into that a bit. Will update.

It is totally complaint with CAN-SPAM act, I think it is done through IP gathering and using a database to link up the email to IP address

I am curious if any of you are as curious as me. Websites like retention.com and pearldriver.io offer services where they scrape a visitors email without them submitting a form. I have read into this a lot but can hardly come up with how they are doing it. These services charge ridiculous...
