facebook can connect with friends what about twitter and instagram? i dont care how vain the purpose is, i just want to know the possible reasons people do it, whether it is ego, $, etc

so i had an account that i got up to 1300 followers and 550 followed. i started off following the first 500 or so using instaget and got little results. i later just liked a ton of pics over a week or so and got up to like 600 but the damn spammers got me up to 1300ish. they are powerful...

was using a bot, liking at 1/second approximately with errors slowing it down, for about almost 20 hours with a few hrs of break in between. used multiple clients (like web, stati, etc) wat settings are safe for instagram liking?
