What are you actually trying to do here? Your concern seems to be having thousands of articles but that's not a lot of records in a database. There used to be WP Multitenant plugin that allowed you to use a single WP install and have multiple wp-config setups.
You might need to deactivate your license. You can login to your account gplcellar.com/account and deactivate from there before reactivating.
