blogs comments were not extinct but i could use them as a traffic strategy not for backlinks. Comments on the relevant blog that bring traffic to the website that is all i needs otherwise around 100 comments will also be useless.

i think niche relevant guest posts and a hand full of editorial links have worked much better than going after a huge amount of backlinks. I prefer to get 5 to 10 gud quality links that make sense for the website rather than 50 not useful links. anchor text diversity was also vry important i think.

afaik however they get indexed without problems but i will not recommend you to use them for authority increase anymore. If you use Blogspot try to make every one of them appear as a actual separate website not a particular bunch of links.
