[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Agreed - but I try and not push the boundaries when it comes to Google.. so having a raft of high PR sites with massive link juice linking back to your site .... I try and do that only after a bit of other backlinking has occurred. But I suppose it is each to their own - there is no 1...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

    1) Starting off it might only be one or 2 articles - but assuming I target the same general niche with 2 different money sites - I may use that Web 2.0 and put further articles on it linking to other sites as well. 2) Yes - mostly all in the same type of niche - but some are more "newsy" type...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Yeah sure - if you have the time and patience - you can backlink Tier 2 with quality links as well. Personally I do not do this (just based on time and the keywords that I target) - but link pyramids are a great ranking method

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Depends on the competitiveness of the keywords being targetted. Both for Strategy 1 and Strategy 2 - yes I have had keywords rank. In some instances in the initial stages - the Web 2.0s rank higher than my money site... but with the persitent linking, the money site rises above. What you would...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Hi 1. I almost exclusively always use Strategy 1 on new domains... so yes it should work - might take a bit longer to see results though 2. I always suggest unique articles - but that is my personal preference as the time It ake to get the Web 2.0s setup and functioning - I do not want them...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Not too sure whether Ill be updating the thread any further based on the linking strategies - as Im comfortable with the conclusions of each of the strategies. I will continue to post clarification of the links that were placed, and answer any questions though.

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

I use a combination of my own sites, and posting on other people's sites (not bought links though - just guest posts). For the former, I own my own private network (in one respect this refers to the High PR posts that I was talking about), and these sites are not just the run of the mill type...

    Private Network worth it?

Look Im a bit biased here - since I do offer a link service - but I do think that your figures do not reflect the actual costs of running these networks. Your "someone to do the work for you" at $100 - per year?? That is woefully underestimated. If I can find someone to do it for $100 - even per...

    Private Network worth it?

Hey richie311 From a cost / benefit perspective - there is no denying if they are all in the same niche - your own private network is the way to go. However - since I have some experience in this - what I would do is start it small - the effort to maintain the high PR sites - and Im not...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

So in between some hectic algorithm changes, we have had some major movements across all of my clients sites, as well as my own. We have let some of the links stwe to see whether would be picked up and placed some further links across both Strategy 1 and Strategy 2. So herewith an update...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

I do have other tasks to perform - and updating on a daily basis when sometimes I have not done anything in terms of backlinking will not add much value to the thread. Also, for the FIVERR services - I want to see when the rankings settle down before providing updates. Will update again later...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Sorry have been a bit busy on other projects - and wanted some of the results to settle down as well. So some further updates as at today: Current Rankings: 1) STRATEGY 1 (Quality based links): 11 2) STRATEGY 2 (Quantity based links): 28 For Strategy 1, the SE results have dipped into the...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Yes - tier 1 links are mainly Web2.0 links, I have added about 5 "guest posts". all these tier 1 links point to money site directly. For Tier 2 - I have minimal web 2.0 links pointing to the Tier 1 links - these Tier 2 links are a further bunch of web 2.0 and 1 or 2 guest posts (on wordpress blogs)
  15. R

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

Around 10 tier 1 web2.0s - and not more than 20 tier 2 links to those tier 1s. Links per day is minimal - this strategy is not about quantity of links - but rather quality links that are targetted (i.e. using good quality content that is relevant (LSI based content) and checking the effects...

    Google Algorithm change?

I do believe Google has unleashed it's new "RTN2Work Miracle" algo update. I have not seen any changes as yet as it gets rolled out through the various data centres but I'm praying that when I too return to work tomorrow that 247 of my keywords will be in the number 1 position ... And I will not...

[CASE STUDY] Race to the top - testing different ranking strategies

I think with Fiverr its hit and miss ... but for $5 I do not really expect anything anyways - its more the diversity I am after and letting others do the work for me. Nonetheless, here are the updated rankings after some work has gone in for the last week: Current Rankings: 1) STRATEGY 1...
