Buying domain for high ranking

If I buy a domain name that relates to a keyword phrase, would it be easier to rank higher than ezinearticles or hubpages etc?

u need more than just a domain, though a domain with the keyword in it is a good start, then your site has to be stuffed with that keyword, then start developing links to your site from others with a high PR, depending on your niche you will start to climb the rankings
