almost every pinterest video says to use the dropdown suggestions for your tags. i just use my product tags from my print on demand store

whats really going on here, what do you guys know

They are mainly a way to understand Pinterest search behaviour. Your own product keywords can work just as well if they match what potential buyers are searching for. The important thing is to avoid using unrelated tags just to get more reach.

You don't need to follow every Pinterest tip you see in videos. Pinterest is a visual search engine, so understanding your audience and using relevant keywords matters much more than copying suggested tags.

product tags are gud but I would compare them to things that people really type into pinterest. Sometimes people look for products based on problems or style rather than what you call the product.

Pick tags from Pinterest's dropdown suggestions when they match your product keywords. If the suggestions show a higher-search term, add it alongside your store tags for better discoverability.

the dropdown is not a growth trick. that field u make a pin isnt free txt. it ties your pin to Pinterest fixed list of interest, the same categories it uses to sort pins in a category Pinterest already recognises.

when u type something thats not on the list, usually it wouldnt save at all or gets loosely matched to something else.

your product tags dont fit that field because tags like funny cat dad shirt are written for etsy or shopify. pinterest list is broader like cat lovers, funny shirts.

Type a keyword in the pin editor, click the dropdown and select the suggested tags Pinterest offers. Add one unrelated but popular tag from Tailwind's Tag Finder to catch extra searches.

I'd encourage unique keyword placements for ones' products because it would make ones' brand become more professional. Also combining these in multiple social media makes you an authority on your field of choice and potential customers trust you easier.

but i would not blindly use all the recommendations on pinterest as well.some could have high search volume but not be rellevant to ur product at all.i would preserve the tags of the product itself nd add some recommended ones to see if they increase ur traffic.

Product tags are gud but i would use actual searches on pinterest as well. the dropdown suggestions are help full for wording not for some thing that uhh have to copy blindly every time.

yes, the dropdown suggestions on pinterest are definitely worth considering as they give you some ideas based on the real searches. however, please remember that your tags should be consistent with your pin and product rather than popular ones.

I wouldn't rely only on product tags. Someone looking for a mug might search for a birthday gift or something for coffee lovers instead. Those Pinterest suggestions can give you ideas about what people actually type into the search bar.

I would nt use all the suggested tags blindly some have volume but attracts the wrong kind of traffic. see what terms drive traffic to ur products and build urss tag list around them.
