Hyy Everyone,

I've been experimenting with different ways of writing asnwers on Quora, but I'm still struggling with one issue: Answer Collapses.

I've tried keeping asnwers short, adding detailed explanations, personal opinion. But still end up collapsed.

Wondering whether it's more about the writing itself, or how quora evaluates content.

What kind of answering style worked for you ?
Do account history and engagement make a real difference?

I'm not looking for shortcuts or tricks. I genuinely want to understand what makes an asnwer valuable enough to stay visible.

I think it’s not just about answer length. Quora also seems to care about how useful and relevant an answer is. Try answering the actual question directly, avoid repeating points, and add examples where they help. Account history might matter too, but good answers alone don’t guarantee visibility.

It appears that it is some combination of content and history even short responses will be collapsed if they do not have much value to the person asking the question or come across as very generic the main thing is to provide a response that directly answers the question and provides an example

i'd look at whether you're posting very similar answers across different questions. changing the length won't help much if the same points keep appearing everywhere. maybe try answering fewer questions but make each reply specific to what that person actually asked.

If an account consistently provides useful, original answers and follows Quora's guidelines, it may build a stronger reputation over time. However, good answers can still get collapsed, so there is no guaranteed formula.

You can focus on the value of your response by keeping it concise avoiding unnecessary length and only including examples when truly needed—which is far more effective than writing a long, drawn-out answer.

I wonder if the way an answer is presented makes a difference too Sometimes even useful information gets lost when everything is packed into one huge paragraph. A little spacing can make
it much easier to follow, right?
