Created dozens of reddit accounts. Only ONE Is Immortal

I have an automated bot that creates accounts and keeps them active. Everything works fine until I post something promotional, then the accounts get banned.

But here's the funny part: ONE of them (out of dozens I've created) somehow survives. Its only a month old. Even when I post promotional comments and they get deleted, that account is still alive!

Has anyone had a similar experience? Any idea why this happens?

it's a activity based and they give you a score once you go to the lowest level you are shadowbanned forever

No one knows exactly how their algorithm works, it might be as simple as the IP which you assigned to that specific one is better quality (higher trust score). Generally any type of blatant promotional content will get flagged fast.

The funny part is that the "activity" comes from the same bot code. The "immortal" account even posted photos for karma. They also share the same IP with the banned accounts too!

I am baffled...

Fair enough. Any tip at least? 😄
post to subreddits with low entry, high reward. r/peterexplainsthejoke is an easy one, repost any popular meme and you can get 10k upvotes in one post, maybe even more in the comments. once you've been around for a week at least it will be easy to do anything with it. i think with reddit you're more restricted by karma than account age.

That one you deem “immortal” will get flagged as well if you keep on posting promotional content, don’t over-do it. Make sure not to exceed 1 promo post for every 10 normal ones.

Could be differences in account history or Reddit’s spam filters. But surviving doesn’t mean the account is safe automated accounts and promo-heavy comments can still get flagged.

Maybe that one account has built up some genuine activity before you started promoting. Reddit can be pretty strict with promotional comments, especially from accounts that post similar content repeatedly. I'd check whether the surviving account is getting more natural engagement than the others.

Technical reality is the ban decision runs on cluster detection, once dozens of accounts share creation patterns the whole group gets linked, but the odd one out with different canvas/audio noise stays free

Curious to what you did differently on the one that survived compared to the other ones that didn’t, could be as simple as using a different type of proxy.

UPDATE: Yesterday, I intentionally overdid it with promotion. I posted about five consecutive promotional comments. And guess what? It got banned.

Still, it had a very good survival rate compared to other accounts and probably would have lasted longer if I hadn't experimented yesterday.

Nothing really. The account was controlled with the same software as the other accounts. No manual activity. My guess is that reddit liked more the random comments posted by that account, but maybe its something else as well.

Pretty interesting that you managed to get one account to stay alive, with automation even makes it even more impressive. Judt curious which software are you using for Reddit automation?

Probably just luck: bans come from a mix of automated filters and user reports, so one account slipping through usually means it hasn’t been flagged yet, not that it’s doing anything different

Its custom. I developed the software. My accounts can stay without banned for very long UNTIL something promotional is posted. Thats what I want to overcome.

Maybe, but I have a theory: Reddit deliberately randomizes its filters so we can’t tell what got an account banned.

E.g. Someone can break a rule and not be punished until later, so the real trigger stays hidden.

It’s the same idea as vote fuzzing with upvotes.
