How can we build pbn in 2026 to focus on AI results instead of Google? Any ideas for different pbn structure to optimize for AI search?

I think building a topical authority network makes more sense than following the traditional PBN approach. I would start with a few niche-related websites, publish quality content, share original insights, and focus on getting genuine brand mentions across relevant platforms. The goal should be to build trust and visibility in AI search rather than just chasing backlinks or DR.

Pbns can still be part of the strategy. I would combine them with niche relevant placements, contextual brand mentions and entity building to strengthen both backlink authority and ai visibility.

Honestly, PBNs are a bad bet for AI search. Tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews mostly pull from sites that already rank well and are trusted. Get mentioned on real sites: guest posts, interviews, industry directories, review sites, and Reddit/Quora answers. For further info feel free to chat

AI search engines rank based on LLMs, not "contextual links or relevant content." So, create/buy an AI-friendly PBN page that is BUILT ON MENTIONS, CITATIONS, or from highly trusted sources like industry sites. If the site is built on links, it will likely be interpreted as link spam by AI and not be ranked. If you are using a freelancer, ask how they are prioritizing how the PBN looks to AI search, as most are making PBNs for search engines.

The way to approach it is, look for a site based on virtually no backlinks, or if building it in a black hat way, that is mentioned on Wikipedia, editorial sites, top news sites in the niche, brand references and verifiable info. If your url is cited from that kind of PBN domain, it's more likely to be ranked by AI search. An easy way to construct it is, line up most of the high authority sites/pages for you niche that are n0 follow, and create a 'AI-PBN network' from those, and use the d0 follow links when creating regular PBNs.

It's all about content that talks about your brand.
Not so much about linking to your website. Which is typical PBN purpose.

Spread word about your brand and target prompts that people use to search for it.

I'd focus on making the sites useful and relevant rather than building a complicated PBN structure just for AI search. Clear content, niche relevance and consistent brand mentions seem more worth working on. AI search is still changing, so I'd test what actually gets citations before investing too much.

PBN links effective on ai SEO if sites have real traffic, relevant content and strong niche connections. yeap, well structured ntwork with detailed niche covrage add more value.

I have saw people talking about a new PBN brand at quora, reddit and X.

Search for that brand some hours later and you will find your posts there. The way to be relevant is posting at relevant subreddits or posts .

If you look at google and you cannot find them, try with bing , or another search engine.

I'd actually be less focused on building a traditional PBN and more on creating some genuinely useful niche publications. Original research, expert insight and relevant brand mentions could go some way to establishing credibility but there's no PBN structure that we've found will actually get you AI citations. You'd be far better off just testing your visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity first before you go any further.

In this case I think that the PBN link will not give me any good results regarding the AI search. Instead, I want to focus on brand mentions from the niche sites nd reddit to know which one of them is picked by the AI.

I wouldn't build a PBN specifically for AI search. AI platforms rely on multiple sources to understand brands and identify useful information, so simply changing the PBN structure won't guarantee citations.

Focus more on getting the brand mentioned across relevant industry websites, reviews, forums, and Top X or Best Of listicles. Make sure the content provides useful information and presents the brand naturally in context.

PBN links may still influence traditional SEO, but I wouldn't treat them as a reliable shortcut for AI visibility.

I’d focus less on traditional PBN structures and more on building niche relevant authority networks with strong topical coverage, genuine brand mentions, and contextual citations.

For AI search, prioritize entity recognition, trusted sources and consistent brand visibility across platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.

This. Brand mentions and PR is the key with AI nowadays.

I will build a next-generation, AI-focused PBN that keeps the traditional PBN foundation but changes its structure.

  • Knowledge PBNs: Guides, definitions, and informational content.
  • Authority PBNs: Expert articles, industry insights, and brand associations.
  • Comparison PBNs: Best-of lists, reviews and alternatives.
  • Research PBNs: Statistics, case studies and original data.
  • Q&A PBNs: Conversational questions and detailed answers.
Key difference: Each domain targets a specific topical cluster and publishes content designed to answer AI search queries.

I will experiment with contextual brand mentions, entity relationships, structured data, internal knowledge graphs, and selective cross-linking.

The main goal is to build a PBN that supports both backlink authority and AI citation visibility.

I believe AI search visibility has more to do with establishing brand authority and creating quality mentions than restructuring the PBN system sep basics are still important but would rather concentrate on getting legitimate mentions and creating quality content rather than using PBN links

If you're going to build one anyway, I'd start with picking the domains, not the structure. AI answers cite pages that are already indexed and look like a real source. So go for domains with a long history in the same topic on Wayback, no casino phase, no language switch before the drop. One site with a clean history and real mentions will do more than 20 identical fresh blogs.

Then why cant we use pbn domains to make "real sites" ?

Right, i guess my question is how can we design pbn sites to get "legitmiate mention and quality content" as we are building the PBN from scratch (real black hat seo) we can design the page however we want

these could actually be generated the way niche publications would be. unique research work is conducted, along with author bios, side-by-side comparison nd topics. It is all about indexing and citation of these pages on their own merits, irrespective of their ability to pass on link juice to the money site.
