Adsterra giving low CPM even with high volume and tier 1 traffic

Many publishers are seeing CPM drops like yours, especially from Tier 1 traffic. It could be due to ad demand changes or traffic quality. Try reaching out to Adsterra support and diversify your ad sources to improve revenue. You're not alone in this issue.

also look at the mobile and desktop seprately. a change in the device mix can affect the rate even when the geo stays the same.

I have seen similar issues as CPM can change based on traffic quality GEO and advertiser demand and you can also check with your Adsterra manager.

I think CPM can change a lot based on traffic quality and GEO like X traffic can also vary over time you should check recent stats against older months to see if the traffic quality or GEO mix changed.

Same with me, even CPM dropping for Indian traffic dropped as well. I am talking about popads here. Even, now they do not offer dedicated account manager but you can contact through chat support after login.

CPM can vary based on traffic quality and GEO, make sure to check your traffic sources and compare different ad formats.

If the traffic volume is high but CPM keeps falling, check engagement and user behavior as well, not just the number of visitors.

Being working in cpm ad networks since 5-6 years, according to my experience another reason of cpm drop is "tag fatigue".

When you start selling traffic by adding any network tag (popup+push+inpage) on your website then you get a standard id which consist of publisher_id+site_id+placement_id. For example as following:

publisher_id = 4512542
source_id = 89031 (website)
placement_id = 75873901
seller_unique_id = 4512542+89031+75873901 = 45125428903175873901

So with passage of time advertisers start blocking any publisher which they assume is not worth to buy from and simply they exclude that publisher from their campaigns or move to low cpm campaigns. As time goes, more and more advertisers exclude you or move you in low cpm campaigns. And in result after few month your cpm drops.

Adsterra offer to create multiple tags, try to get new tag of same website. If advertisers blocked you on full seller_unique_id basis since now you have new tag means, new placement_id then you will be a "new traffic source" for them and you will start getting high cpm again.

Every traffic buyer or advertiser have their own rules, some block publisher, some block source and some block only combination of all three.

I use one network and when my cpm drops, I readd website and create new tags and same traffic generate double revenue. :)

GCS

In addition when I was buying traffic from different SSP (like froggyads and rapidhits) then I myself have been blocking traffic sources in same way. See attached screenshot for reference.

Yes, CPM can drop based on traffic and country you just try different GEOs and traffic sources to see what works better.

Yes, that drop sounds familiar with social traffic and I have seen rates change when the traffic mix or advertiser demand changes also you can check US vs UK separately and compare mobile with desktop too.

Adsterra itself says CPM can fluctuate based on traffic performance and conversions. If your traffic mix hasn’t changed much I’d compare the last 3 or 4 months by country and traffic source rather than looking at the overall CPM.

Yes, You’re probably not the only one seeing this because CPM can drop over time, so check US and UK traffic separately to see where the drop is coming from.

I personally think it is worth asking support whether advertiser demand or direct link rates have changed, that may help explain the lower earnings.

You are not the only one facing this, I have seen other publishers discussing similar CPM drops with Adsterra direct links, even with US and UK traffic because It may depend on traffic quality and advertiser demand.

I want to discuss and want to know if someine else is working with adseterra and having the issue of low CPM by using direct link . My traffic is mostly from social media and more specifically X. visitor countries include all over the world but most from USA , UK .
I am working with adsterra since september 2025 . at the start it used to be 3 usd but for past 3-4 months it no more then 1.
i am very frustrated and want to know if some one has same issue or only me
i am attaching the screenshots of april 2026 stats
Hi,

I found your profile on BlackHatWorld. I'm looking for a reliable traffic provider for Adsterra campaigns.

I'm interested in buying quality traffic on a regular basis.

Could you please share:

  1. Traffic sources (Pop, Push, Social, Native, etc.)
  2. GEO targeting options
  3. Daily traffic volume
  4. Pricing per 1,000 visitors (CPM)
  5. Minimum deposit
  6. Payment methods
I'm interested in long-term cooperation if the traffic quality is good.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks!

Yes, maybe the traffic quality or advertiser demand has changed over the past few months and I would be interested to hear what other Adsterra publishers are experiencing.

"Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I am actively working on optimizing my traffic quality to better align with advertiser demand.

I have set up pre-landers to filter out low-intent traffic and am focusing on higher-engagement sources. Could you please share if there are specific advertiser categories, high-performing GEOs, or ad formats currently delivering the best eCPM on your end?

I'd appreciate your insights so I can route the right traffic accordingly.

Best regards,"

Could you please provide your WhatsApp number? It would be easier for us to discuss traffic optimization and ad performance directly.
