I have a question about TikTok videos. What do you think helps a video get more views: watch time, people watching until the end, shares or comments? Which one do you think is more important? I would like to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Is it about user retention, or is the question how to get users to watch the video all the way through?

For me, watch time and completion rate matter a lot. If people keep watching instead of swiping away, that's a good sign. Shares help too because they bring the video to more people. Comments are useful, but I wouldn't focus on them alone.

Yes, reposts are important, too. But as far as I'm concerned, the most important thing is the percentage of users who watched the video all the way through-it should be 20+

Watch time and completion rate matter most, especially if people watch the video all the way through or replay it.

Shares are also a strong signal because they show people found the content worth passing on, Imo.

everything matters but people have to be interested in the video before having enough watch time and like and for them to be able to share

A 15secs video that 80% of the people finish watching usually beats a 60 secs video that people abandon halfway.

I think the first few seconds matter a lot. If your hook is strong enough to keep people watching, the rest becomes much easier. Shares are also a good sign that people actually like the content.

I think keeping videos interesting from the start matters most. People are more likely to watch when the content is clear, useful and enjoyable. Good video quality and consistency also help.

To me, everything is important. I used to think TikTok prioritized likes, but now I’ve realized that videos with a high number of shares are what truly matter.

Keeping viewers engaged in the first few seconds to optimize watch time, full-screen rates, and shares are key factors in achieving high video effectiveness.

As per my experience, A good hook to engage viewers, a good script is enough. Just do your work and keep posting. Leave the shares, likes, and comments to the audience who is definitely going to love the quality content.

I believe the most important factor for a TikTok video is its ability to retain viewers (in terms of watch time and video completion rate). TikTok differs significantly from Facebook or Instagram in that the platform does not prioritize your existing follower count. When you post a video, the algorithm distributes it to a small group of users.

these days, the most important things on tiktok are maintaining content quality and posting consistently. and one of the most effective ways to improve your reach is by engaging with your audience in the comment box. this thinks build connection.

I agree that answering questions may contribute to building your community through your videos. I would also focus on videos that are being saved and shared the most often rather than the most viewed ones.

retention is extremely important on TikTok videos, as good watch time completion rates and shares usually make a noticeable difference.

Helol! First, watch time, then everything else. If they leave in the first 2 seconds, the rest has no chance. Quick check: in analytics, compare the average watch time with the video length. Less than half - delete the beginning, and only then think about comments and shares. Shares push the video into the first wave, but they only come from those who finished watching.

I’d put watch time and completion rate at the top of the list especially for shorter videos. If people swipe away in the first few seconds that’s a sign the hook isn’t working.
