Hi! I recently spent ~$100 on OpenAI (ChatGPT) Ads and wanted to share my experience.

Setup: 1 campaign targeting a single country that usually has a very high conversation rate for us with 1 self-created Ad image and copy and 2 ads with OpenAI-generated content.

Results:
- 22 clicks, ~$4.50 per click
- 0 conversions
- Replayed most of the sessions through our monitoring tool and most of them were completely inactive for like 30 seconds before leaving the page. At most, they clicked away the cookie banner or scrolled down for a second.

Had high hopes for this but it was really disappointing. Will not do again.

Also another bad thing: It is impossible to live track the CPC because it takes a really long time, like 12 hours, to update the spent amount. Therefore it showed a < 1$ CPC for a long time because it was counting clicks but not spent...

were all 22 visitors from the same country and device type? It could help show whether the issue was with the traffic or the landing page.

Very interesting. We had a similar experience but that was down to our niche. What niche and geo were you testing in?

Something was not right with your campaign. If on a normal, you used to get results, but then all of a sudden, the results stopped coming in, maybe the Ad was not convincing enough. There are times you feel you have done your best, but your audience expect more or something entirely different. Whichever, study your Ad you may see why it didnt work
