I’m trying to improve my copywriting and was wondering what techniques are currently making the biggest impact on conversions; are things like storytelling, emotional triggers, or simple and clear messaging working better these days, and what should beginners focus on first?

Conversions of what?
Content being unique & valuable to the reader seems to work the best :)

Good point, I’m mainly referring to sales or lead conversions, and I agree unique and valuable content definitely makes the biggest impact.

Worked as a freelance copywriter for a good while and sold courses myself... paint the dream result of the customer and be as detailed as possible in your copy. Then give a realistic timeline and subtly hint at how their peers are doing better than them because of your product (don't be too direct)... works really well

I think clear and simple messaging is the best place to start. People need to understand quickly what you're offering and how it can help them. Storytelling and emotional triggers can also be effective, but they work best when combined with a clear message. I'd focus on understanding your audience, highlighting their needs.

I’d start by figuring out what’s making people hesitate. Do they understand the offer? Is the price unclear? Are they worried about what happens after filling in the form?

That gives you something specific to write about. For example, “Get in touch” doesn’t tell me much. “Tell us what you need and we’ll email you a quote within 24 hours” sets a clear expectation, assuming you can deliver on it.

Reviews and customer questions are useful here. Look at how people describe their problem and what they ask before buying. You can pick up a lot from that before worrying about copywriting formulas.

Stories can help if they show how someone solved a similar problem. I wouldn’t force one into a page where the visitor just wants the price and a few straight answers.
