Which PPC Metric Do You Think Gets Too Much Attention?

I have seen many people focusing too much on different PPC metrics like CTR, CPC, impressions and ROAS.
But I think not every metric is equally important for every campaign.
Sometimes we spend too much time improving one number and forget about the actual campaign results.
I am curious to know what other people think.

  • Which PPC metric do you think is overrated?
  • Do you focus more on CTR or conversions?
  • Is ROAS always a reliable way to measure success?
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

yes there are times when lead figures will mean nothing as there will be too many leads, yet vry few of those will become customers. how can you know how many lead will become customers nd what the conversion rate is?

Impressions are useful for checking reach, but they do not tell me if the ads are bringing the right people.

Do not forget to compare weekday and weekend results. Some campaigns perform very differently depending on the day.

No single metric is useless bro. The main mistake is optimizing a single variable without understanding the google ads is like a complete funnel.

High impss with low CTR means poor ads relevance. Good CTR wirh low imps means tracking or loading issue.

U need to normally compare CPC, views and CTR and then make ur decisions. So its all about which metric matters on making or loosing money in any ads system.

Impressions get too much attention imo. I've seen campaigns with great reach but barely any real results. I'd rather have fewer clicks from people who are actually interested in buying.

CTR has gotten too much hype in my opinion. My emphasis is put more on conversions as clicks really mean nothing without conversions.

Cost per lead, at least on local lead gen. Google Ads only counts someone who clicked the ad and then tapped the number or finished the form. The person who saw the ad, looked you up later and called from your profile isn't in that count, so spend divided by leads looks exact and isn't.

I leave it out of client reports and show spend, clicks and leads instead.

For lead quality, listen to the calls. On Google's forwarding numbers you can turn on call recording in account settings, US and Canada only, and hear what actually came in.

CTR has gotten a lot of undue recognition in my view. In contrast to CTR, I pay greater importance to conversions, as click-through rates and impressions are not necessarily indicative of tangible outcomes.
