I’ve been looking at a lot of new Web3 projects lately and see something interesting.
Some projects have thousands of Telegram members but almost have no conversation between announcements and community
For who has launched a token or worked on a crypto project

is the Telegram activitys actually affect project trust and conversion during a launch?

Do you actively manage conversations or mainly rely on announcements and moderators i want to learn something about it

Depends on the niche. Some businesses run fine without heavy social, others die without it.

Hello Brother, From what I’ve seen, member count alone doesn’t mean much if the community is inactive. Genuine conversations, quick responses, and consistent moderator activity can build more trust during a launch than just posting announcements.

Member count means almost nothing now, anyone can buy 10k members for cheap and people know it. What builds trust is real activity in the chat (questions getting answered by the team, not just bots). A smaller group with actual conversation looks better than 20k silent members.

Pretty important, it’s a pretty easy way to funnel traffic and build a community.

The headcount is the cheap part. On Backstage a quiet room does not count as a community. Someone has to answer the actual question, or the launch page is just a number.

Active chat matters more than big empty numbers, quiet Telegram community with thousands of members usually kills trust pretty quick during a launch.

Real conversations make people feel safer sticking around than just announcements and mods.

If conversations exist that's a good thing. If only announcements are made from a developer of the crypto coin then many group members might feel a bit "uneasy" to invest in it.

you’ll need a platform where you can build a proper community, so the most straightforward platforms would either be Disc or TG. The latter is easier to setup in my opinion as there’s already easy to implement bots to manage the community.

A vibrant Telegram community is essential for any token; it helps generate a ripple effect and a sense of FOMO (fear of missing out), builds a core "buying force" for the Token Generation Event (TGE), and serves as a transparent, rapid, two-way channel for information exchange.

X a lot more important than tg
Most projects move traffics generated from X down to Telegram, X is great for exposure, and tg is best for holding down investors, by offering direct answers to their questions, project developers use TG to build trust.

There’s different options, you could also go with setting up a community on Reddit or Discord, they’re just a bit more effort to set up. I’ve even seen launches going with with simply an X/twit acc.
