ai is the broad idea of computers doing tasks that seem intelligent. machine learning is a way to build ai by learning patterns from data, and deep learning is a type of machine learning that uses layered neural networks.

AI = artificial INTELLIGENCE
ML = it learns patterns from data to make predictions. (spam filter) human decides what to look at
DL = it DISCOVERS patterns from data to make predictions. humans do not always know how it figures out the patterns.
