Is keyword research still the foundation of successful blogging, or should bloggers focus more on search intent?

I have a question about blogging. Do you think keyword research is still important or is it better to focus on what people want to find when they search on Google? I would like to hear what has worked for other bloggers.

I think both go hand in hand keyword research gives you information on what is being searched while search intent will give you an idea of how to produce content that would answer these questions

what is the use of targeting a keyword when your article does not solve the problem of the searcher?

yes keywords research are still important and working on google Keywords research are the main point of SEO your site will not rank in google with out keywords research .

Keyword research still helps, but matching the search intent matters more. A keyword can bring visitors, but if the article doesn't answer what they came for, they probably won't stay.

I think that both are significant since keyword research will help you understand what the person is searching for whereas search intent will help you write the correct content targeting the keyword alone wont be enough if the content of the article fails to satisfy the query of the reader

Keyword planning should still be the top priority. Keywords reflect users’ search trends and make it easier to plan your content.

These 2 go hand in hand but search intent is more crucial if you want to keep your audience interested.

They both go hand in hand. Keywords are a way of understanding the intent. But that does not mean you get a list of keywords from SemRush and call it a day. I know some people think that is the effective strategy (which it was a few years back). Things have changed now. You need to pick the seed keyword and match it to the intent. There is no point otherwise.

Blogging about what? Unless you are in fiction or fantasy stuff, forget about it. Blogging sector is going to collapse in the near future. Better put your efforts in other venture.

With Ai covering the most of the questions, not much scope is left for bloggers. Plus the attention span of online users are getting shorter too. People nowadays wants the answer in single line instead of reading long ass articles.

But if you still want to focus on it, search intent is the way to go.

Search intent basically IS part of keyword research now. If you aren't checking the actual SERPs to see what Google is already rewarding for a query before you write, you're just guessing anyway.

Even with the right keyword and search intent, ranking can be difficult if the SERP is dominated by established sites. Checking competition and finding gaps in the top results before writing can save a lot of wasted effort.

Both go hand in hand, but search intent should guide your content.

Keyword research helps you find what people are searching for, while search intent tells you what they actually expect to find, try focus on both rather than choosing one.

Keywords are still important, but they must be done with consideration of search intent. By looking at the search results, you will know the type of content your audience expects and what their questions are. Produce content that satisfies those expectations.

i think both go hand in hand Keyword research helps you find opportunities but understanding search intent is what makes the content useful I’d focus on finding relevant keywords and then creating content that actually answers what people are looking for

I still do keyword research before writing any blog post, but I don't blindly target keywords just because they have good search volume.

I try to understand what people actually want when they search for something. Then I check related keywords, questions, and the type of content already ranking on Google.

For example, if I am targeting "best budget gaming laptops", I also look at what comparisons, specifications, and questions users expect to find.

I think the best approach is to combine keyword research with search intent. Keywords help you find opportunities, while search intent helps you create content people actually want to read.

These both things actually matters a lot in blogging and both can not be ignored at all while starting from zero, So both are important you have to pay full attention on them before starting a blogging. The keyword research brings you the interest of people that for what they search mostly, and the search intent tells you what they actually expects and keywords helps them to understand the search intent. That's why blogging is incomplete without these both factors. You have to focus on both before you start.

I think both go hand in hand, keyword research helps you find opportunities, but understanding search intent is what makes your content truly valuable.
