Hi everyone,
let's say you have a website with zero organic traffic. the website is live but visitors are not coming from google.
what wpould you check or fix first?

  • Keyword research
  • on page SEO
  • technical SEO
  • content quality
  • backlinks
Everyone has a different approach to SEO, so I am curious to know how you would handle this situation.
If you have to choose only one thing to fix first. what it will be and why?

If visitors are not coming from Google, then from..?
That's your first key point, how they are finding me, how do they visit my website?

First thing I'd check is whether Google has indexed the site. No point spending money on content or backlinks if Google can't even find the pages.

I mean, if Google is not bringing visitors, what would you check first to find the problem?

firstly, use the google search console (GSC) to find out if your pages are indexed and getting impressions. secondly, do an analysis of the content and keyword before building links.

yep, i'd check GSC's index coverage and URL inspection, then check for crawl blocks and noindex tags. no use in building links until the important pages are indexed by google.

I'd look at the keywords first. Sometimes a site has decent content but it's targeting stuff nobody actually searches for, or keywords that are way too competitive. Fixing technical issues won't bring much traffic if you're targeting the wrong searches to begin with.

First, I’d check whether Google can actually crawl and index the important pages. Then I’d look at whether the site targets real search demand and offers something useful compared with competing pages, because fixing technical SEO alone won’t create traffic if the content misses the intent.

yep, technology can take you only so far. after resolving the indexing issues, I would compare the page with the pages that have already ranked to see if it actually provides more relevant information than those pages do.

I’d check technical seo first, especially indexing and crawlability. If google can’t properly access or index the pages, even great content and backlinks may not bring organic traffic.

Used to blame content whenever traffic stayed flat. NextSeo's crawl and search-demand check flipped that for me, since a page Google can't reach properly was never going to rank anyway.

I'd start by checking whether the pages are indexed and targeting relevant keywords.
But still, publishing more content isn't always the answer if the existing pages aren't useful enough.

I'd focus on content quality and keyword intent first, then work on backlinks once the basics are in place.

I’d check technical SEO first if Google cant crawl or index the pages, all that content and link building effort might go nowhere.

Submit your website to Google Search Console to check whether bots have crawled and indexed your pages, and to see if there are any critical errors.

I would compare the site with competitors ranking for the same topics to see what useful information is missing.
