If you were building a channel from scratch, would you focus on ad revenue first or build affiliate marketing into the content from the beginning? Why?

I’d build affiliate marketing into the content from the beginning, especially for reviews, tutorials, and comparisons.

AdSense is nice as extra income, but affiliate commissions can pay much better with less traffic if you target the right audience.

You should integrate monetization features right from your very first videos; this will allow you to fully leverage your earning potential, with ad revenue serving as an additional income stream. It is best to combine both approaches to maximize your total earnings.

I'd build affiliate marketing into relevant videos from the start while working toward YouTube monetization. Ad revenue depends heavily on views and niche, whereas affiliate income can come from a smaller but highly interested audience.

The best approach is to combine both from the start. AdSense can provide more consistent income as views grow, while affiliate marketing can bring in extra money from viewers who are ready to make a purchase.

I do affiliate, and I would keep doing that coz if that turns good can make passive income. Ads are good but youtube is youtube.

Affiliate marketing often earns more per view than AdSense, especially for software, AI tools, and product reviews.

  • AdSense: Earn from views.
  • Affiliate marketing: Earn commissions from sales.
  • Best strategy: Combine both for multiple income streams.

Go affiliate from day one. Ads pay nothing until you have a big audience, but affiliate links can earn from your very first clicks. Add ads later once you’ve grown.

AFF mkt for sure mate, with affiliate offers, u can monetize a video getting only 500 targeted views (if the buyer intent is high). for me,I'll build content around solving specific problems with affiliate software or tolls, and treat Adsense as a nice passive bonus once get approved down the line

For a new channel I would prioritize consistent uploads and audience retention Add relevant affiliate links early then treat AdSense as another revenue stream when eligible

For YouTube affiliate marketing, I usually start promoting affiliate products once my channel has grown well. In the early stages, I focus solely on earning revenue from AdSense ads.
