Is PDF parasite method working now?

Google has clamped down heavily on PDF parasites through recent spam updates and stricter site reputation abuse filters.

Two main reasons why it feels dead right now:
1. Harder to index: Googlebot no longer indexes random PDFs uploaded to open document repositories or educational portals automatically. Without heavy Tier 2 backlink blasts or aggressive indexing tools, they simply sit unindexed.
2. Shorter lifespan: Even when a PDF manages to rank, Google deindexes or filters it out much faster than before.

If you are running parasite campaigns, shifting to HTML cloud pages (AWS S3, Azure, Google Cloud buckets) or active platforms like LinkedIn, Substack, and Reddit is getting significantly higher indexing rates and longer ranking life than static PDFs.

Googlebot has never indexed 'random pdfs' unless they have internal links, are sitting in a directory with Options +Indexes in it's .htaccess, are force indexed, or tiered. There is simply no route to discovery otherwise.

2. Shorter lifespan: Even when a PDF manages to rank, Google deindexes or filters it out much faster than before.
Any actual data on this? Because I'm running a large scale test on this subject right this moment. Or have you just copy/pasted an LLM's opinion?

It seems PDF Parasite SEO doesn't work for every keyword, and I've noticed that only a few PDFs actually rank. In my opinion, Parasite SEO posts are generally a better option for targeting competitive keywords because they offer more flexibility in content optimization and potentially better ranking opportunities.

Search through my previous posts on the subject. I've highlighted at least a couple of platforms and their workflows.

Looks like OJS has yet more exploits being targeted. There is a long history of OJS having vulnerabilities, including XSS and role escalation - this looks like an image upload that isn't being properly sanitised for file type. Have a look for some CVEs for OJS, or sign up for a few and start playing around.

seems not working now. Is there a google update recently?
Yes, I noticed it too google is now getting better at filtering low value parasite pages, pdf SEO can still work but it is much less reliable if the content is mainly made to rank only.
