I remember back in 2015 Instagress was super nice, enter your comments, enter hashtags to target and it would print you money by making comments to relevant users.

Today every single automation seems to be blocked, Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram etc. is there ANY working automation to generate free reach that still works?
Any tool that you can connect to an account on any platform to still get free reach? Doesn't even have to be links, just posting the website name would be fine.

the instagress stuff didnt just get blocked, it also stopped being worth doing. back then reach came from actions you could automate, follow like comment. now reach comes from watch time and retention so even if you get mass commenting running again you get nothing out of it. only automation that still holds for me is on my own account, scheduling posts and auto replies thru the official business api. anything that touches strangers at volume gets action blocked in a few days no matter how clean the proxy is

I’d look into official scheduling tools first, since they automate posting without risking the account through fake engagement. If you want free reach, test tools like Buffer or Meta Business Suite alongside niche specific comments done manually, and compare profile visits and referral traffic to see what actually works.

Yes, Meta Business Suite would be a great place to start if you’re mostly working with Instagram and Facebook. I would track profile views and clicks on the links within a couple of weeks, instead of only relying on likes.

tbh, scheduling post is still working quite well, but those old auto-like nd comment plugins do not seem to be worth the trouble. I would go with automated posting nd manual engagement, especially on niche page where genuine comments may bring some traffic.

I totally agree with you and I would also like to add that reels haven't been as important as of right now.

I believe that today fully automated commenting and following is very difficult to do because the social media sites have advanced algorithms that can detect repetitive activities instead i would concentrate on scheduling and finding the appropriate audience automated tools are helpful when it comes to saving time.

Mass comments won't do much except burn your accounts pretty fast, total waste of time now. What works way better for me is setting up comment to DM automations on Insta it's way safer since they opt in first but don't overdo it or Meta will still flag you for engagement bait

One distinction worth adding to what Salamouna and O already said: there is a difference between managing your own content - scheduling posts to your own pages, auto-replies on your own account - and mass unsolicited engagement with strangers, which is where most of the dead-tool stories in this thread come from.

Disclosure: I run a tool in this space, MultiGroup Poster, so weight this accordingly. What it does is scheduling posts to Facebook groups your account is a member of. That is not the same as owning the group: being a member is not permission to automate, so the platform's rules and each group's own rules still apply and decide what you may do there. So my answer is a narrow one: manage and schedule your own content where the rules allow it, and treat any tool's safety promises, mine included, as something to check rather than trust.
