When uploading videos, do you spend time researching tags, or do you focus mainly on the title, description, thumbnail and audience retention?

Since i work with youtube seo, i usually pay more attention to keyword research, titles, descriptions and thumbnails than to tags. I still use relevant tags, but i don't think they deserve most of the time. For me, the main thing is to understand what people are searching for and optimize the video around that

I’d treat tags as a minor detail and focus more on the title, thumbnail, and making the video match what viewers are looking for. Tags can help with variations or misspellings, but I wouldn’t spend much time on them.

I don't spend much time on tags. I think the title and thumbnail do more to get people interested in a video. The description helps too, but if people click away after a few seconds, a bunch of well-picked tags won't save it.

Tags still help a bit, but i wouldnt waste too much time on them. Title and thumbnail matter more imo.

I usually try to focus on the title, thumbnail, and views retained. Whilst tags are useful for context they are nowhere near as important as making useful videos that retain views.

YouTube tags still have some value, mainly for misspellings and keyword variations, but I focus more on the title, thumbnail, description, and audience retention. Tags are a low priority compared to creating engaging videos that keep viewers watching.

You should focus primarily on keyword research, titles, thumbnails, and descriptions to attract and retain viewers, while tags play a secondary role and shouldn't take up too much of your time.
