i have been listening for few days that SEO is at risk due to AI tools is it possible that SEO will disappear in the coming era
if the client move to AIO and GEO will it afect our work or not.
My Question to the expert is can SEO ever be Closed?
If Yes how?

I see two ways this could go.

1. AI search results takes over an people stay with Google, let's say they even like the new search. Then you would still have to do SEO, just differently. Google will never stop linking to it's sources no matter how much AI they use. The new metric you would be interested in here is AI mentions, either in ahrefs/semrush or in the Google Search Console.
2. The masses get fed up with bullshit AI results and turn to another search engine. In that case you would still do traditional SEO, would be even easier to rank high compared to Google.

SEO will never die, SEO experts will never be out of a job. The field just changes and if you're late to adapt you're simply just left behind.

I don't think SEO will go away. It will just evolve.

AIO and GEO are altering the way people find information, yet they're still predicated on the same core principles - relevant content, authority, technical accessibility, and trust.

The model of just publishing content to rank for keywords may disappear. SEO professionals will have to optimize for both traditional search and AI discovery, and will be much more focused on conversions and real business outcomes.

If people move towards AIO and GEO then our business changes, but a lot of our existing SEO skill set is still very relevant. The real danger isn't that AI is going to replace SEO, it's that the SEO professionals themselves are going to be unwilling to change.

AIO and GEO may change how people discover websites, but sites will still need visibility, relevant content, technical optimization, and authority. We, the experts, must adapt by learning AI search optimization alongside traditional SEO. SEO will never end, but its face will change.

SEO will never "close" cause AI engines still need the web to index and pull real time data from. Ala peple search for information, there will be optimization. Adapting to GEO isn't the end of SEO, it's just the next high ticket service u can sell to clients

AI will cite the link of the source but people not click on it so concentrate on AIO SEO is a dumb advice. Write for readers not for seo engoines, not seo content, write it with your own voice so AI will barely copy your ocntent and you will rank in google.

Yeah I agree, SEO will just evolve into AEO, where your brand's visibillity is going to matter more than getting plain backlinks for example.

SEO isnt going away imo but the traditional model of success metrics is changing as if AI delivers fewer clicks uhh need more than one source of traffic and conversion pages.

The basics still matter: quality content, technical SEO, backlinks, and search intent, don't abandon SEO; adapt to how search is evolving.

SEO won’t disappear, but way people search and find sites changing with ai. sites may lose clicks but quality content, relevant backlinks, and authority still matter. imo , smart move is to adapt SEO with GEO and AIO, not assume that traditional SEO is dead.

SEO aint going away, it’s just changing. AIO and GEO add new ways to get visibility, but technical SEO, content and authority still matter. Better learn both than worry about SEO ending.

The AI overview not exist to help you in seo, it exist to make sites with generic seo content unvisible means no one clicks on the link source, otherwise when you know to write for readers not search engines and with your own voice then you will rank in google and AI will barely copy your content/blog posts. But most not understand,not will learn.....

Yeah listen to these seo "experts" who will you rip off......they not have a clue about why big site birds have high rankings and millions of traffic or Seth Godins blog (his blog structure is a seo masterpiece) and to write with your own voice for the readers , not the search engine, only then AI will not copy your posts and you will ranking good in google. Then you can hire an experte who can build good strong backlinks for you.

AI may influence how people come across certain brands but those brands will have to be discovered some how SEO professionals monitoring lead generation outside of ggl will adjust faster I think

I don't think SEO is going anywhere, but the way we do it is definitely changing. With AIO and GEO, we need to focus on getting brands visible in AI answers as well as Google. One thing I'd add is that traffic alone won't be enough anymore. Clients will care more about leads, conversions and actual business results. Those who adapt early will have more opportunities.
