Hey guys, what link-building methods are working best for you right now? Are you focusing on guest posts, niche edits, digital PR, or organic link earning? I'm interested in hearing what’s actually bringing results and what’s no longer worth the effort.

Guest posting and digital PR working best for us.

Additionally writing quality content on our own websites drives more organic traffic from Google and AI sites as-well.

It depends on the competition and niche. Guest posts, niche edits, brand mentions, and listicle placements are all working well. This mix has helped us move competitive casino keywords onto the first page of Google for one of our client sites.

In my opinion, it is more beneficial to get backlinks from relevant websites than to build a lot of irrelevant links. Guest posting on good websites, creating useful content, and getting natural backlinks are more reliable methods in 2026. It is better to focus on fewer but quality and natural links. Building links slowly and consistently is better for SEO in the long run.

The same question asked now around 1 billion time, and the answer is the same again. What was working on 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Real, geniune articles from real and geniune websites.

Digital PR and genuinely useful content have the strongest long-term potential in my view. Guest posts can still help when they’re relevant and editorially genuine, but I’d avoid buying links in bulk. Relevance and real audience value matter more than link volume.

I’d also look at comp backlinks for ideas not just copy their link profile. The biggest thing is relevance and whether the link makes sense.

Easy - Medium niches

Parasite (Reddit subs to Google properties to everything self-hosted) << Tiered link building like T2/T3

Hard niches i would

EMDs + Parasites <<< Tier 2 and tier 3

This helps rank hundreds of keywords every day. You'll see them popping up on console, and if your main keyword never hits top 10 or has no AI overview, then do some niche edits or switch to a new niche (I'd switch since the strategy costs basically nothing more than a domain if you own link building tools / hermes and apis etc).

All of them are fine, but IMO one should focus getting more guest posts and niche edits from highly authoritative, relevant sites to one's reach.

There is no single answer to your question.

You have to check what is working for your top competitors and then try to replicate those strategies on your own website.

If you follow a fixed strategy without analyzing your competitors, you might put in too much effort for too little return.

Google works differently for different search queries, so you need to figure out what is working for your particular keywords and niche.

Invest in tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs and analyze your competitors thoroughly. Check their backlinks, the pages ranking for your target keywords, and the types of links pointing to those pages.

PS : Don't just copy their total backlink count. Look for patterns in the links pointing to their ranking pages, identify opportunities you can realistically replicate, and test what works for your website.

Hope ! You people find this answer helpful

I tend to look for the link pointing to the ranking page as opposed to just linking to the site as a whole. It would appear that relevant guest posting nd backlink hold more weight than mere DR in certain niches.

always found relevance matters more than number of links. even a small test like that can tell you a lot if you track referral traffic and ranking changes instead of judging link by metrics alone.

For us niche edits on relevant sites are still the most consistent. Volume packages still have a place but only for defending the brand name, not for pushing commercial keywords. We also found local language content helps a lot, we added a Bahasa Malaysia section to one site and the local queries picked up faster than the English ones.

I go for relevant guest posts, digital PR and naturally earned links from sites in the same space. Niche edits can be a route too.

The big ones for me would be topical relevance, actual site quality and whether the link is appropriate in the context rather than DR.

I'd steer clear of mass link packages and the kind of repetitive, low quality placements. A smaller number of relevant links is a far better long term investment than building a huge backlink profile that provides very little value.

I think only quality and relevance are working. I am focusing on two things. One is guest posting on a real website that has its own Google traffic and is similar to ours. The other is digital PR, i.e. getting a link from a news site. In 2026, getting natural backlinks from a website for link building and digital PR are among the best strategies. Avoid low-quality links and spammy methods because natural and quality link building is more important for long-term success.

Find the pages already ranking for target keywords and get a link from them or if possible, replace them with pages having your link.

To be honest i first looked to see whether the site has been crawling and publishing stuff otherwise there were people who are selling the same dead domains to everyone.
