Would you start a blog in a low competition niche or a high traffic niche?

If you were starting a blog today with a budget of $100 then would you choose a low competition niche with less traffic or a competitive niche with higher earning potential?
Would you focus on seo, pintrest or social media to get your first 1k visitors?
I would love to hear what you would choose and why!
With such limited capital I would surely start a low competition niche.

I’d choose a niche based on both competition and earning potential, rather than traffic volume alone. Start with low-competition keywords, build useful content, and test Pinterest or relevant social channels if they fit your niche. With $100, I’d keep costs low until I see what brings results.

A small niche is fine, but make sure it has enough related topics to support consistent content growth for at least a year. You want room to grow, not run out of topics after a few months.

I would make a good blend of low competition and high profit. Regarding driving traffic, I would go for SEO, followed by Pinterest and social media marketing to retain the best-performing channel.

I'd pick a niche where I can publish genuinely useful content without spending much. For the first 1,000 visitors, I'd combine long-tail SEO articles with Pinterest pins and track which channel brings engaged readers before investing more.
