Can Too Much Internal Linking Dilute Important Pages?

Hi BHW folks,

I’ve noticed that adding more internal links doesn’t alwys mean getting better results. For exmple, if dozens of pages keep linking to the same important URLs, each additional link adds less value once those pages alrdy well connected. adding same links evrywhre make the site structure feel repetitive rather than intentional.

Focus more on how the links distributed across site nd whether they help users and search engines discover right pages. Simply repeating same internal links across every page increase link count without necessarily improving overall structure.

imo, internal linking should strengthen the architecture, not just increase the number of links pointing at a page.

any thoughts?
I agree. Internal links should have something to do with the topic and make it easy for users to navigate to related pages. It's better to link to relevant pages than repeat the some links everywhere.

totally agree, i've seen sites with the same sidebar link on every page and it just trains google to ignore it lol. a few contextual links from relevant pages did way more for me than blasting the same link everywhere

Agreed, contextual links from relevant pages improve site architecture more than repetitive sitewide links.

I work usually by focusing more on relevance and context than the raw number of internal links. A link should help users to discover related content or guide them toward an important page on the website. I’ve also found that reviewing orphan pages and linking them to related articles to key pages can be more useful than blindly adding links sitewide.
