We often focus on getting quality backlinks, but technical issues can sometimes prevent linked pages from being crawled or indexed properly.

Do you check the crawlability and indexation of a target page before building backlinks to it?

Yes, I've even seen people buying links without verifying whether the page is indexed or not lol.

First I verify it on GSC, also verify the canonical and redirect URLs. Do you do it manually or with the help of Screaming Frog?

I use manual checks and tools depending on the site. Better to check before building links lol.

I think it’s worth checking the technical side before building backlinks. If Google can’t properly crawl or index the page, those links might not help as much as expected. I’d usually start by checking indexing, robots.txt and canonical tags. No point spending time and money on backlinks if the page itself has issues.

I also check the target page is http status to make sure it loads properly before building backlinks so the links do not go to west.

yes i think its worth checking before building backlinks. if the target page has a noindex tag, crawl issues or isnt indexed then the link may not provide the expected seo value. i usually check the url in google search console and review its status, internal links and canonical tag first. fixing technical issyes before link building can save both time and money

Backlinks are important factor in Google ranking algorithm but technical SEO issues may stop you from getting their full benefit.
I mean if a page has good backlinks but Google cannot index it, those backlinks will not help you rank. I mean backlinks matter, but technical SEO also matters.

Yes, absolutely! No point building backlinks if technical issues are holding the page back. A quick check can save a lot of effort.

Yes, technical SEO issues can reduce the value of backlinks. I always check crawlability, indexation, canonical tags, and redirect status before building links. There’s no point investing in backlinks if the target page can’t be crawled or indexed properly.

I always recommend checking crawlability, indexation and page status before building backlinks. Even quality links may have limited impact if the target page has technical SEO issues.
