Is it safe to mention a main account in the bio of backup or does this run any serious risk these days? Recently set up a backup account for a client and ofc we want to re-direct any potential followers who find her backup account back to the main one.

Are we risking a ban of any sort? I see tons of creators do this but wasn't sure if there was any risk at all. Thanks for any insight.

Mentioning your main account in the bio of a secondary account generally does not violate policies, provided that both accounts comply with Facebook’s rules. However, if a secondary account is used to impersonate others, engage in spam, or circumvent restrictions, it may be subject to suspension. Therefore, it is advisable to clearly state that it is a secondary account and provide a transparent link to your main account to minimize potential risks.

I'm asking about TikTok. Not Facebook?

TikTok allows multiple accounts. A normal “Main: @username” bio mention appears fine under its published rules; using another account to evade an active restriction can lead to bans.

Thank you for confirming. Greatly appreciate it.

tbh, if it is meant to be a safeguard measure, connecting the backup account to the main one would be totally fine. however i would not make the two accounts mirror images of each other, nor would i set up such an account without reviewing the social networking site’s guidellines first.

i m more concerned about the usage of the backup than the inclusion of the bio mention itself. there are many content creators who are honest enough to incllude links to their profiles.but if one profile gets banned or restricted then one should not use the backup to circumvent this ban.

You can create multiple accounts, provided you are able to keep them all active. Linking them to your main account is perfectly fine; however, ensure that the content and image quality on your secondary accounts are not exact copies of your main account. Otherwise, if your account gets banned, any other accounts linked to it may also be banned.

Tagging your main account in a secondary account’s bio is generally safe if the account has a clean record, but if the secondary account gets suspended, the main account may also be subject to linked-account scrutiny.

It is generally safe but there is always a slight risk if the backup account gets banned for spam or guidelines violations. as the algorithm might link and shadowban the main one too. Tons of big creators do it. but to be completely safe, you can use a clean landing page link like Linktree in the bio instead of tagging the main username directly.
