Hey guys, I’m a third-year student in Asia and also work part-time. I’ve been using free AI tools so far. Is there any paid plan that’s actually worth the money for studying?

If you are in China, i'd most likely use DeepSeek, otherwise use Claude. ChatGPT way too preachy in favour of certain countries policies over others IMHO not going to name names

You mean pricey right? Yeah DeepSeek is a very good tool for a small budget.

I'd stick with free plans unless you're regularly hitting limits. Try ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude for studying and compare which explains your subjects best. A paid plan is only worth it if it genuinely saves you time.

I’m a fourth-year student and the best money I’ve ever spent is on ChatGPT Pro.

All my colleagues use Claude for their studies and are full of praise for it. I'm mainly staying on DeepSeek, it allows me to complete all my educational tasks, and with the rare mistakes it keeps me focused 🤓

Fair enough! I think it really comes down to personal preference and what works best for your workflow. Have you ever tried using Claude and DeepSeek side by side? Would be interesting to compare the results.

I get your point. Every AI has its strengths and limitations. I think the best approach is to use whichever tool fits your needs rather than sticking to just one. Have you tried using multiple models for different tasks?

"For studying"

Gemini, no question about it.

Gemini is the best in overall knowledge

*edit*
Gemini offers 12 months for free for students + after the year is up 75% discount for 1 year, truly absurd pricing

Gemini and Google LM or Notebook LM - i dont know what its called now. But that thing is GREAT for knowledge!

Honestly, I'd start with ChatGPT or Claude. Both are useful for explaining difficult topics, summarizing materials and helping with assignments
I wouldn't pay for several subscriptions at once Pick one that fits your study routine and see if you actually use it enough to justify the cost. The free versions are already pretty useful.

I'd stick with the free versions for now. If you find yourself using one almost every day and keep running into limits, then it's probably worth paying for. No need to spend money until you know which one actually helps with your studies.

That would be the pragmatic approach to me. Try out some free applications first to see what would work best with your researcch habits. Move on to the paid options when you reach the limitations.

Go with Cloude if you want really good results for instant. (Best results for pdfs, tables, infos)
Go with Chatgpt if you need image generation ( i still get best results in pro version here)
