Been working nonstop lately and could use a little escape, some peace and a chance to switch off for a while. What helps you reset?

For me, doing something completely unrelated to work helps. Even going out for a little walk or chatting with a friend makes me forget about deadlines for a while. Sometimes you just need a break from thinking about work all day.

I usually step away from the computer for a while, go for a walk, or do something completely unrelated to work.

In reality, taking some time off the computer screen works much better than trying to work despite a burnt-out brain. Even 15 minutes spent walking may help you get back into things.

I step away from the screen completely and take a walk with a bottle of milk in hand. My walk always end in a park or garden. Away from noise. Just me and green nature. When I return, I sleep away.

I mean to say that taking a break from work is more productive than being forced to be productive throughout the day. Even going for a short walk helps in regaining one’s attention once one returns.

Yes, working hard when your mind is tired normally ends up being counterproductive. You can take a little rest so that you have a clearer mind to complete the task more quickly.

a full day with the laptop closed and the phone on silent. sounds too simple but its the only thing that actually resets me

Anything that helps you forget about work for a while. Whatever you find interesting!

For me, it’s having a few drinks at a nice place and enjoying good conversations, or travelling to the mountains and spending time in nature.
