What is your opinion on "rank and rent" - lead generation? is it still profitable currently? How about Dog/Pets NIche Blog?

You cant start authority blog because when you start your authority is 0 due to new site. Google has the logs of all expired domain so unless you buy a live authority blog and the domain you are starting from 0.
Dog niche is one of the most competitive niche , dont do that. It may take you 5 years may be to see any income.
Rank and rent hardly rank unless you got some secret sauce and have figure out how to rank a rank and rent.
The most important step is niche research not keyword research or expired domain.
Find low competition high volume niche, validate the niche like I validated 3 niches above and then start.

For rank and rent on Pay per call model, its just a number game. If you make 10 websites then 1 or 2 websites will pay you back.
Then you will reinvest that money into creating more sites and will keep going on.
And you need to do good keyword research for rank and rent websites.

Rank and rank still works, but you need to be very clear with your niche, and a lot depends on the intent when it comes to local search.
You need to start with one city, one service instead of targetting 10. Check their difficulty, backlinks, and how much demand they have and CPC.
We use our oen marketing analytics data for this specifically because it is confusing with the public data and its the most important thing.
Build five to ten focused service location pages, optimizing internal linking, relevant local citations, and tracking calls, everything for that one niche.
Before you rank and rent, first you need to test personally for the buyer's demand, and that's where the whole success lies in. Also contact 10 to 15 local business and check whether they are getting qualified calls.
i would begin with testing the site ranks nd leads in one location rather than constructing several sites at once.if local businesses are ready to pay for the leads, u will have something to expand upon.the idea of the dog blog is great as well but i would choose that path only if i like researrch work.What is your opinion on rank and rent? is it still profitable currently?

Rank and rent can still work, especially with local services, but finding reliable clients is the challenging part.

Rank and rent gets my vote if you can find a paying lead buyer and make the costs work. A dog blog suits someone who can produce firsthand guides and original product comparisons.
