Hello guys, i need your help.

I own an ecom store in Europe, and i am doing multi-language SEO. Now, i'm done with the ON-PAGE SEO, and i decided to build some backlinks to my collection pages, for which i want to rank for.

My store is translated in 19 languages, and my goal is to rank in countries like Germany and France.

Now my question is: Where should i target the backlinks to? To which URL exactly?

Example
: .com/collections/brand or .com/de/collections/brand

What do you think?

Thanks!

I’d build backlinks to the localized URLs, like /de/collections/brand for Germany, from relevant German websites.

Local media has the right target, but check one thing before you buy a single link.

On a lot of multilingual stores the /de/ and /fr/ collection pages carry a canonical back to the base URL, or the hreflang is missing the return link, and then you are building links to a page you have told Google to treat as a copy.

Open the /de/ collection, view source, and make sure the canonical points to itself and the hreflang set lists every language including the base one.

The other reason to go localized is the reader: a German site linking to an English collection page sends people somewhere they bounce from, and the site owner is less likely to agree to it in the first place.

Are your localized collection pages self-canonical right now, or do they point back to the base URL?

For German audiences, target /de/collections/brand; for French audiences, the French equivalent. Keep those pages indexable and connect matching translations with reciprocal hreflang.

I’d target the localized collection URL for Germany and France, using relevant backlinks from each country where possible. Keep each link pointing to the page you want to rank.

Id point your German and French links straight to the de and fr collection urls instead of the default page. Hreflang helps Google swap in the right language , but even though subfolders share root authority , direct links with local anchors give way clearer page relevence. Dont spread your budget across all 19 languages either , just focus on priority markets like Germany and France and let root links plus internal linking carry the rest

I would target the language-specific collection URLs, like /de/collections/brand for Germany and /fr/collections/brand for France. Focus on relevant local websites and make sure your hreflang tags are set up correctly.

I’d build backlinks to the specific collection pages you want to rank in Germany and France. Relevant local links can help, so focus on the target market rather than just the main domain.

concentrate on your niche based backlinks. Dont use generic links. probly buy mixed version of German and French versions. Make sure each localized URL has the correct language, relevant content and herflang tags
