Hello!

I'm curious if anyone can share their success with mass IG DMs vs Mass FB DMs for getting users to a site.

I am leaning on FB becuase of groups. I am able to rack up 50k+ users across many private groups that have added me. I assume these are real users and will be worth the mass DM.

The other hand is IG where I'd scrape followers of niche influencers - but worried about bot count and wasted DMs.

Any guidance or success stories?

Either way, never insert links in the initial outreach DM, u can start with a soft conversation opener then send the site link only after they respond to keep ur sending accounts alive longer

To ensure your account functions reliably and allows you to send a high volume of messages to other accounts, you should "warm up" the account by gradually increasing your activity. Start by sending messages in small batches, about 5 to 10 at a time spaced 30 minutes apart. As Facebook adapts to your behavior and recognizes these actions as part of your regular usage, you will be able to send significantly more messages without triggering warnings or policy violations. Also, pay close attention to the content of your messages.

Yeah as @METAZ AGENCY said dm only 5-10 times per day, space out the dms and you will gradually be able to send more messages as your account get older.

I’d focus on targeted, personalized outreach rather than mass DMs. Group members aren’t necessarily interested in your offer, and scraping followers can bring low-quality traffic. Relevant posts and opt-in campaigns are usually more sustainable.

In my view, Facebook is a better fit if you already have an audience—people who are genuinely interested—within relevant groups. Instagram also holds potential for reaching the right target demographic, though you’ll need to filter out fake accounts. That said, you should avoid sending mass messages without the recipients' consent, as this often leads to spam reports and account restrictions. The best approach is to conduct small-scale tests, personalize your content, and compare click-through and conversion rates to determine which channel is most effective.

I’d test Facebook groups first, but only with people who already expect updates or have opted in. I’d also track replies and clicks by group, because a smaller engaged group can beat a huge list with low response.

I recommend prioritizing Facebook, but avoid sending mass messages.

Facebook: You already have over 50,000 people across relevant groups—this is a major advantage. Post useful content, share your website, and reach out to those who are genuinely interested.

50k group members sounds promising but doesn't mean 50k people want a DM. i'd try getting some interest through posts in those groups first and see what traffic they actually bring. mass messaging can get your accounts reported pretty quickly, regardless of whether you're using mobile or residential proxies.

Being in the same Facebook group doesn't mean people want unsolicited DMs. Mass messaging on either platform risks spam reports and account restrictions. I'd test opt in offers through relevant group posts or ads instead, then compare actual conversions rather than just message volume.
