Google is dumb, these influencer just making it too technological advanced

Hello guys, so I currently working on some niche and I found it has extremely stupid competitors and poor looking websites and found website doing keyword stuffing, pbn backlinks and they all are ranking on top of google and getting traffic, I keep seeing these influencers saying google is very advanced, have spam brain and all those shii, but why not google do anything to them, I noticed one article which doing clear stupid kewyord stuffing and promoting affiliate, found backlinks that get cited by ai overviews which is completely irrelevant and clear sponsored solely for ai and website rankings hack, I found these tactics still somewhat work, it's just people just hyping google too much, In your perspective do these pbn backlinks still work? I'm even seeing keyword stuffing still working, what's your view on this? I personally think this might be stupid and low competition niche and sites that google has no choice? could that be possible? Let me know your thoughts!

hmm...but I noticed in many other niches which had some competition as well, some stupid websites even beating high authority site by doing keyword stuffing and PBN, can you believe? yes, I checked everything very carefully including their content and their content was shii, I think there is something wrong going on with google or they could be doing something else?

google surely does not detect all the spam, particularly in niche markets where there is little competition. both the PBNs nd keyword stuffing might seem to work for a certain period of time but that does not necessarily mean that they are susttainable practices.

but i have seen even when websites that seem quite mediocre manage to perform well in search rankings. the thing is that google is not flawlless nd sometimes spam does get through, particularly in niche markets. PBNs nd keyword stuffing may work to ur advantage in the short term but u should never base ur strategy on them.
 
There are certainly niches like that.

But usually it just "looks" stupid simple.
Once you start to actually penetrate the existing rankings, the reality is different.

Honestly, PBNs and keyword stuffing can still work in some niches, especially where competition is weak. Google isn't perfect, and ranking doesn't always mean a site follows best practices. The real question is how long those tactics last before an update hits. Sometimes being better at SEO matters more than having a better-looking website.
 
I'm still learning SEO, so I'm curious how Google chooses which websites to rank. Why do some websites with simple content rank so well?

I have had also seen cases of websites ranking even with poor content but the real question is how well they retain there positions when their rivals adopt similar tactics.

this can be in certain niche. what's the niche of your site???. google ranks sites differently in every niche. suppose yours is recipe/food site, and another site is auto/cars and having same stupid comeptitors, keyword stuffing, domain age, backlinks, on-page seo - everything been similar, google will rank those 2 sites differently for their relevant keywords. So all it depends on niche.

Yes, PBN backlinks can sometimes influence rankings especially in low competition niches where competing websites have weak backlink profiles. However temporary ranking improvements don't necessarily mean the strategy is sustainable google's spam systems can devalue links or take action against sites involved in manipulative link schemes. The bigger risk is building your entire SEO strategy around a tactic that can stop working without warning
 
You hit the nail on the head. LinkedIn and Twitter influencers live in a bubble preaching "just write helpful content," mostly because they sell white-hat agency services or consulting.

In reality, Google's core algorithm still relies heavily on raw keyword matching and PageRank math. Two reasons why those ugly sites are ranking:

1. Lack of better options: In low-competition or underserved niches, Google has to show something. If no major authority site has written about the topic, the algorithm has to rank whatever exists, even if it is crude keyword stuffing.
2. PBNs still pass juice: Despite all the PR about AI spam filters, backlinks are still the primary ranking factor. If a site has strong link signals and zero real competition, it will rank.

Take it as an opportunity. If ugly spam is ranking on page one, building a slightly cleaner site with decent on-page structure and a few quality links will let you outrank them easily.
