Found this yesterday when watching a bit of YouTube videos. Not sure if it was shared before on BHW.

I am not a coder/developer. But it seems this can copy almost anything.

Saw people removing bloatware and ads from their TV's. Crazy.

What are your first thoughts?

Feel free to share your ideas on what you'll be using it for.

Yes, it works really well; I’ve seen many apps cloned in a matter of minutes.

Although the repo has been around since April, it’s only just gone viral.

Has the era of paying for apps, SaaS, etc., come to an end? It certainly seems so.

It works, and it's insane. It did in 40 minutes what would’ve taken me days, and there's no guarantee I could've even pulled it off.
I bet a lot of the big software giants freaked out when they saw what AI can do in reverse engineering.
Software will never be the same.

I don't think so. The app and SaaS market will definitely take a hit (or is it already?), but there will always be people who prefer to pay with money rather than time.

I believe that at the rate at which AI is advancing, in a couple of years it will be so advanced and so simple that your AI will tailor-make your applications.
Will there be people still using apps, SaaS...? Yes, of course... but the volume of clients will no longer increase and will decrease until it is zero.

This is scary! My concern comes from the fact that a person might struggle for days to come up with an App or software solution and you can clone it in minutes and make it even better. Are we seeing the end of intellectual property?

What do you mean by "pay with money instead of time"?

Yup, wonderful piece of code. It was launched a couple of weeks ago.

Adobe was the first victim, software is next.

The only way I see corporate surviving this is doing the same as games did a while back (giving you a snapshot of the game) or having every software on the cloud, you install nothing.

What exactly did you reverse engineer? Was it a specific feature or an entire app?

Haven't tried REA yet but modern AI models are already pretty good at this even without it. I was messing around with my router other day and was impressed with what they could do

The post I replied to suggested that the era of paid apps is coming to an end.

It's questionable. Building an app is only half of the story - you still have to maintain it. That takes time, and not everyone has the time to spare, even if they wouldn't mind doing it.
And plenty of people just won't want to bother because they have zero interest in dealing with it, even if they actually need the tool. I am one of them :)

It works
it works very well
Although depending on the ai u are using, guard rails may be thrown at you, at times when running it
take that into consideration when you are trying to clone something

It was a text comparing function from very old windows app.

Did I understand that you can reverse engineer games too?
I would be so interested to play the Guild Wars 1.
The game is no longer playable, because it needs internet access to the server.. But I think the game cd has all the installation files. So it would work, but it needs the internet access to the server..

Same thing with the game The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble (1995):

It has the problem with the DDOS.. So it needs a DDoS environment to play. But it´s not working even though I tried it.
Someone reverse-engineere it to straight to windows full screen.. :D

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.

Imho small, nich like software will not have a problem. But something like Adobe ... pfew, its only the beginning.
