I'm still trying to understand all this website stuff . I guess adding good content and learning SEO are important, but I'm not sure what to focus on first. Would you start with content or SEO?

I think it's better to give the website some time to grow and focus on Google SEO first. Since some keywords are competitive, maybe start with less competitive ones and build traffic slowly before spending money on backlinks.

Fair point from Sandra.McGuffin about targeting less competitive keywords before spending a cent on backlinks. I'd have done it the wrong way round, links first and traffic later.
