Is translating English articles to other languages still a good traffic hack?

Hi friends, I am planning to scrape high-performing English articles from top blogs, translate them automatically into Spanish, French, and German using DeepL API, and post them on my site. Does Google still rank machine-translated content well in non-English search results, or is the traffic quality too low? Thanks!

Translation alone probably won’t be enough, especially if you’re just republishing scraped articles. Focus on original value, natural localization, and cultural relevance for each audience. That’s more sustainable for SEO than mass-publishing automated translations.

Machine translation can rank, but simply scraping and translating articles is risky and rarely sustainable. I’d localize content for each audience, add original insights, and verify accuracy before publishing. That gives you a much better chance of earning relevant traffic long term.

Just translating articles is not enough to get good rankings on Google, it may bring traffic in the short term but it will not rank in the long term. It is better not to just translate but to add your own research, local examples and human editing to it, the quality of the content is higher.
